(United Latest News)- Wisconsin volleyball secures a prominent spot in the initial AVCA Top 25 rankings for the new collegiate season. Anticipated to maintain their strong performance, the Wisconsin Badgers have claimed the No. 2 position in the rankings. The team’s season debut is set for Saturday, August 19, when they will face off against the University of Illinois at Chicago at 1 p.m. CT. This match serves as both their season opener and home opener at UW Field House.
At the start of the season, only Texas managed to secure a higher ranking than Wisconsin. Impressively, the Badgers garnered 7 first-place votes in the inaugural poll. Notably, other Big Ten teams such as Nebraska, Minnesota, and Penn State have also earned spots in the top ten of the rankings. Among conferences, the Big Ten stands out as the sole conference to have more than two teams represented in the top ten of the initial rankings.
